The SPA CL39 or Fiat-SPA CL39 but also called Fiat-SPA CLF 39 (where the acronym stands for Carro Leggero Infanteria) or also Autocarretta SPA to distinguish it from the Autocarretta OM , is a light truck produced in Italy by Società Piemontese Automobili (SPA) and employed by the Royal Army and the Royal Air Force . It had a different concept than the mountain truck, with a less rustic layout. He was easy to handle and could reach a good speed. The SPA brand, which in 1932 also absorbed Scat with its main shareholder Fiat, was present on the market from 1906 to 1947 , despite the fact that in 1909 the original company was merged with FLAG ( Fabbrica Ligure Automobili Genova) and in 1926 , following financial difficulties, was purchased entirely by FIAT . Having been part of the “Fiat Consortium” since 1929, the company ceased bus production in 1940, while in 1947 it went into liquidation and was definitively absorbed into Fiat.
